Pinnawala is a village in Kegalle District of Sri Lanka and is around 90 km from the capital, Colombo. It is well known for its elephant orphanage and the open zoo.

Before You Leave 

• Visa: We’ll help you understand the visa requirements for Sri Lanka (https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/sri-lanka/entry-requirements). Be sure to apply well in advance of your trip. 
• Booking Flights: Need help finding the best flights? Our staff can guide you and recommend the most convenient options. 

Arrival Day 

• Airport Pickup: At Colombo Airport (CMB), our driver will be waiting with an Infinity Care sign. Relax during the hour-long (approx.) drive to our offices or to your accommodation if you’re located farther out. All transportation costs are covered within your fee. 
• Getting Settled: We’ll help you get oriented to your new surroundings, including getting a SIM card, exchanging currency, and understanding public transportation. 

Orientation and First Day 

• Office Visit: You’ll visit our offices, learn about our projects, and receive an induction pack with maps and important contact information. 
• Placement Introduction: We’ll accompany you to your placement site, introduce you to the team, and give you a tour of your new work environment. 

Ongoing Support 

Safety First: Your safety is our priority. We have systems in place to support you, and our staff is available 24/7 in case any issues arise.

Student Status: Current healthcare students or those accepted into a professional medical and nursing degree program are eligible.
Graduates Welcomed: If you’ve already graduated, you can still participate! Gain valuable experience in a low-resource hospital setting with supervision from qualified professionals.
